Our Story

It was a typical December afternoon our senior year of college when Noah suddenly slid into Noam’s DM’s:

Accepting a three day trip to New Orleans, LA with a boy you’re just friends with takes a lot of “chutzpah,” but Noam was not intimidated and gleefully accepted! By the end of the trip, we knew we had potential and decided to keep seeing each other.

Unfortunately, our post-graduate plans did not align. Noam was about to begin her job at AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) in Washington, DC, and Noah was about to start medical school in Winston-Salem, NC. Though the 320 miles between us would pale in comparison to the 6,400 miles between our hometowns, a long distance relationship was nonetheless a daunting task to both of us and we decided to stay “just friends.” That didn’t last long…

After a few months of visits, we were finally both home for New Year’s. Noah surprised Noam with a date to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, an evening during which we realized we’d rather date long distance than not at all. It was official. By Valentines Day of 2019, it was time to hard launch the relationship.

Long distance wasn’t easy, but after three and a half years we finally moved in together! At this point, Noam had already moved back to Atlanta, GA to start a job at the Home Depot, and Noah had matched at Emory for a residency in internal medicine. Following a year of living together, Noah got down on one knee and asked Noam to marry him. In that moment, we both blacked out from excitement, but Noam swears she said “yes.” We could not be more excited to spend the rest of our lives with each other.
